Merry Wondrous Words

Emma Davies’ novella Merry Mistletoe is a sweet romance about a young woman trying to save her family mistletoe farm. All of my Wondrous Words come from this book and are examples of British slang. The definitions are all from the Urban Dictionary.

punters (n): London slang for customers.
She liked her forest green coat with red woolly hat and scarf. The punters seemed to like it too.

pillock (n): British slang for a fool or idiot.
Freya’s boyfriend Gareth was a prize pillock but harmless enough.

bap (n): In British English, a type of floury soft bread roll, often used to make a sandwich.
She turned to Amos to collect her breakfast. He waved his bap appreciatively.
