April Wrap Up

Posted May 3, 2015 by Elizabeth in Features/ 3 Comments

Month in Review 6Welcome to my April Wrap Up, where I review what I’ve read and posted since March.  The organizational side of me likes doing weekly and monthly wrap ups and the goal-oriented side likes to see all I’ve accomplished in a certain time period.  Thanks to Kathryn from Book Date for organizing this monthly meme.

The biggest thing I did on the blog this month was switch from Blogger to Word Press and get my own URL. Ashley from NoseGraze (previously Creative Whim) worked quickly, answered my questions, and helped me personalize the theme. She is also the creator of the Ultimate Book Blogger Plugin for WordPress, and offers online courses. I can’t say enough good things about her. Now that I am used to the WP dashboard I am liking it. I want to get a custom banner, but I’m still thinking about what it should look like. Should it be “evil” like the name of the blog, or a colorful design that represents my personality? I was thinking about those avatar women that some blogs have and maybe I could get someone to make one that wears armor but isn’t super scary. All opinions are welcome.

GIVEAWAY for Making Your Mind Up by Jill Mansell open until June 1.women's fiction

DEWEY’S READATHON was April 25 and I participated for the first time. I really enjoyed the mini-challenges, and will definitely do it again in October.

READING ROUND UP is a compilation of giveaways and book reviews posted once a week @ Read This! is hosted by Karen from KissinBlueKaren. It’s a good way to expose your reviews to a broader audience.

  1. Good you are so happy with WordPress and that Ashley was so helpful. Hmm the header – that will be interesting! You had an excellent month of reading. I can understand only doing reviews for arc’s as sometimes just too many creep up, and reading really is what we most like to do! Hope May is a good reading one for you too.
